Board of Directors

H. Eric Bolton Jr.
Chairman

Mr. Bolton was named Chairman of MAA on October 1, 2002, having assumed the duties of Chief Executive Officer one year earlier. Mr. Bolton has been a member of MAA’s management team since April of 1994. Prior to joining MAA, he spent seven years with the Trammell Crow Company in Dallas, serving most recently as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for Trammell Crow Asset Management. He worked in the commercial banking industry for seven years previously.

Mr. Bolton holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate. He also holds professional designations as a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status) and an Associate of Risk Management.

Mr. Bolton serves as a Director for EastGroup Properties (NYSE: EGP) which is a self-administered equity real estate investment trust focused on the development, acquisition and ownership of industrial properties in major Sunbelt markets in the US. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Governors of the National Association of REITs.

Alan B. Graf Jr.
Lead Director
Mr. Graf has served as a director since June 2002. Mr. Graf is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FedEx Corporation, a position he has held since 1998 and is a member of FedEx Corporation’s Executive Committee. Prior to that time, Mr. Graf was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for FedEx Express, FedEx’s predecessor, from 1991 to 1998. Mr. Graf joined FedEx in 1980. Mr. Graf also serves on the Board of Directors of NIKE, Inc., Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare, the Indiana University Foundation and is a University of Memphis Trustee.
Russell R. French
Mr. French was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Post Properties, Inc. and has served as a director since December 2016. Mr. French served as a director for Post Properties, Inc. from July 1993 until December 2016. He has been a special limited partner of Moseley & Co. VI, LLC since 2007 and a Class B Partner of both Moseley & Co. VII, LLC and Moseley & Co. SBIC, LLC since 2014. Mr. French is a retired venture capitalist and was previously a member of Moseley & Co. III and a partner of Moseley & Co. II, positions he had held for more than five years. In addition, Mr. French has been a member of MKFJ-IV, LLC since 1998 and a member of Moseley & Co. V, LLC since 2000. Each of Moseley & Co. III, MKFJ-IV, LLC and Moseley & Co. V, LLC is the general partner of a venture capital fund. In addition, Mr. French is an Emeritus Trustee of Emory University and a former member of the board of directors of the Georgia Tech/Emory Biomedical Engineering Department and former director of the Georgia Research Alliance.
Toni Jennings
Ms. Jennings was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Post Properties, Inc. and has served as a director since December 2016. Ms. Jennings served as a director for Post Properties, Inc. from May 2013 until December 2016. Ms. Jennings is the Chairman of the Board of Jack Jennings & Sons, Inc., a family-owned construction business which provides general contractor, construction manager and design-build services. She served as Lieutenant Governor of the State of Florida from 2003 to 2007, and served 20 years in the Florida Senate, four as President, and four years in the Florida House of Representatives. She is also past chair of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Jennings is a member of the boards of directors of publicly-traded NextEra Energy, Inc. and Brown & Brown, Inc.
James K. Lowder
Mr. Lowder was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Colonial Properties Trust and has served as a director since October 2013. Mr. Lowder served as a trustee for Colonial Properties Trust from 1993 to 2013. Mr. Lowder has served as chairman of the board of The Colonial Company and its subsidiaries since 1995. Mr. Lowder is a member of the Home Builders Association of Alabama, the Greater Montgomery Home Builders Association, and serves on the board of directors of Alabama Power Company.

Thomas H. Lowder
Mr. Lowder was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Colonial Properties Trust and has served as a director since October 2013. Mr. Lowder served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Colonial Properties Trust from 1993 to October 2013 and as the Chief Executive Officer from 1993 to 2006 and again from 2008 to 2013. Mr. Lowder became President and Chief Executive Officer of Colonial Properties, Inc., Colonial Property Trust’s predecessor, in 1976. Mr. Lowder also serves on the boards of Children's Hospital of Alabama and Crippled Children's Foundation. Mr. Lowder is a past board member of Greater Birmingham Community Foundation, United Way of Central Alabama, the University of Alabama Health System Board and the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation.

Monica H. McGurk
Ms. McGurk has served as a director since March 2016. Ms. McGurk is the Chief Revenue and eCommerce Officer for Kellogg Company, having joined Kellogg Company in July 2018. Previously, Ms. McGurk worked for Tyson Foods, Inc. from 2016 through September 2017, initially serving as Executive Vice President of Strategy and New Ventures & President of Foodservice, and later as the Chief Growth Officer. Prior to joining Tyson Foods, Inc., Ms. McGurk served as Senior Vice President, Strategy, Decision Support and eCommerce, North America Group for The Coca-Cola Company, a position she held since 2014, when she was promoted from her prior role as Vice President, Strategy & eCommerce, a position she held since 2012. Prior to her employment with The Coca-Cola Company, Ms. McGurk served for eight months as the Chief Executive Officer of The Alumni Factor, a digital media and information services start up. From 1992 to 2012, Ms. McGurk served in a variety of roles, including eight years as a partner, at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm.
Claude B. Nielsen
Mr. Nielsen was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Colonial Properties Trust and has served as a director since October 2013. Mr. Nielsen served as a trustee for Colonial Properties Trust from 1993 to 2013. Mr. Nielsen has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. since 2003. Mr. Nielsen served as Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. from 1991 to his planned retirement in 2016. Mr. Nielsen had been appointed as President in 1990. Prior to 1990, Mr. Nielsen served as president of Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Mr. Nielsen currently serves as Chairman for The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is a board member of the Birmingham Business Alliance.
Philip W. Norwood
Mr. Norwood has served as a director since August 2007. Mr. Norwood is a Principal of Haviland Capital, LLC, an investment company. Mr. Norwood served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Faison Enterprises, Inc., a real estate development and investment company, from 1994 until his retirement in March 2013. Prior to joining Faison Enterprises, Inc., Mr. Norwood held several positions for Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Norwood is a member of several real estate associations and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Pacolet Milliken Enterprises, Inc.

William Reid Sanders
Mr. Sanders has served as a director since March 2010. Mr. Sanders serves as the President of Sanders Properties, LLC and Sanders Investments, LLC. Mr. Sanders is the Co-Founder and former Executive Vice President of Southeastern Asset Management, and the former President of Longleaf Partners Funds. Prior to co-founding Southeastern Asset Management in 1975, Mr. Sanders served as an investment officer and worked in credit analysis and commercial lending in the banking industry from 1971 to 1975. Mr. Sanders currently serves on the Board of Directors of Two Harbors Investment Corp. and Granite Point Mortgage. Mr. Sanders also serves on the Board of Directors, Compensation Committee and Executive Committee for Independent Bank, serves on the Investment Committee at Cypress Realty, a limited partnership involved in commercial real estate, and is on the Advisory Board of SSM Venture Partners.

Gary S. Shorb
Mr. Shorb has served as a director since May 2012. Mr. Shorb served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, an integrated healthcare system that comprises a seven-hospital operation centered in the Mid-South with over 11,000 employees, from 2001 to his planned retirement in 2016, also serving as Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer from January 2017 through April 2017. Mr. Shorb joined Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in 1990 as Executive Vice President. Before joining Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Mr. Shorb served as President of the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to his work in the healthcare industry, Mr. Shorb worked as a project engineer with Exxon and served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Shorb serves on a number of civil and not-for-profit boards and is currently serving as the Executive Director of The Urban Child Institute.
David P. Stockert
Mr. Stockert was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Post Properties, Inc. and has served as a director since December 2016. Mr. Stockert served as a director of Post Properties from May 2002 until December 2016. Mr. Stockert served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Post Properties from July 2002 until 2016. From January 2001 to June 2002, Mr. Stockert served as Post Properties’ President and Chief Operating Officer. From July 1999 to October 2000, Mr. Stockert was Executive Vice President of Duke Realty Corporation, a publicly traded real estate company. From June 1995 to July 1999, Mr. Stockert was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Weeks Corporation, also a publicly traded real estate company that was a predecessor by merger to Duke Realty Corporation. Prior to joining Weeks Corporation, Mr. Stockert worked as an investment banker and as a certified public accountant. Mr. Stockert currently serves on the Board of Directors of Duke Realty Corporation.

Management Team

Albert M. Campbell III
Executive VP, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Campbell joined MAA in 1998 and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer at the beginning of 2010. He began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen, serving numerous large public corporations. He also served in various finance and accounting roles with Thomas & Betts Corporation (a large public electrical supplies manufacturer) prior to joining MAA.

Mr. Campbell graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Professional Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council serving recently on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

Melanie M. Carpenter
Executive VP, Chief Human Resources Officer

Ms. Carpenter joined MAA in March 2000. Prior to joining MAA, she worked in Human Resources with Cooperative Marketing Concepts, a high performance telemarketing and training services firm. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in Management and earned an EMBA, also from the University of Memphis. She holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute and is a current member and past Board Member (serving as Treasurer and President-elect) for the Memphis chapter of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Robert J. DelPriore
Executive VP, General Counsel

Mr. DelPriore joined MAA in August 2013. Prior to joining MAA, Mr. DelPriore was a partner in the securities department of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, where he worked extensively with real estate investment trusts.

Mr. DelPriore graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his undergraduate degree in History from Vanderbilt University.

Thomas L. Grimes Jr.
Executive VP, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Grimes joined MAA in 1994 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in December 2011, having previously served as Executive Vice President and Director of Property Management.

Mr. Grimes holds a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and an MBA from the University of Memphis. Mr. Grimes is a member of the Urban Land Institute (MultiFamily Gold Council) and the National Multifamily Housing Council.

A. Bradley Hill
Executive VP, Director of Multifamily Investing

Mr. Hill joined MAA in 2010 and has almost 15 years of experience in real estate transactions. Prior to joining MAA, he held senior positions with two real estate development companies. Mr. Hill graduated from Tulane University with a BS in Management, and earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from SMU’s Cox School of Business. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).

Charles A. Konas
Executive VP, Director of New Construction

Mr. Konas joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in 2004, he was senior vice president of Carter & Associates, a regional full-service real estate firm.

Mr. Konas is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Civil Engineering, and holds a BS in Physics from Guildford College. He is LEED certified and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

David C. Ward
Executive VP, Development

Mr. Ward joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in August 2004, he was Divisional President and Managing Partner for JPI Partners, Inc., where he was responsible for multifamily investment activities.

Mr. Ward is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where he serves on the NMHC Board of Directors and Executive Committee and on the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board. He earned his BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tim Argo
Senior VP, Director of Finance

Mr. Argo joined MAA in June of 2002. Mr. Argo was previously a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen LLP. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a BBA in Accounting and earned an MBA with a concentration in Accounting, also from the University of Memphis. Mr. Argo is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee.

A. Clay Holder
Senior VP, Chief Accounting Officer
Mr. Holder joined MAA in 2017. He previously spent seven years in multiple accounting and finance roles at AutoZone, Inc. Prior to AutoZone, Mr. Holder began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. Mr. Holder graduated Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Professional Accountancy and earned a Master of Professional Accountancy, Magna Cum Laude also from Mississippi State University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee.
Joseph P. Fracchia
Senior VP, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Fracchia joined MAA in October 2016. He has 20 years of Professional Services experience with PwC, Deloitte and Andersen and was Founder and Managing Partner of Vaco Risk Solutions. Mr. Fracchia earned his BS in Accounting from The University of Tennessee and his MS in Accounting Systems from The University of Memphis. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Leslie B.C. Wolfgang
Senior VP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Wolfgang joined MAA in 2000. Ms. Wolfgang earned a BS in Business Administration, Cum Laude with a concentration in Finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and holds an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University with a concentration in Operations Management. Ms. Wolfgang has been designated as a Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC) by the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association.

Indrid Agaj
Senior VP, Construction

Mr. Agaj joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. He joined Post in March, 2007. He is responsible for managing new construction in the general Southeast, Florida and Texas markets. Prior to joining Post in 2007, he managed construction projects in various fields for large general contracting firms. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a BS in Construction Management. He also holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from the University of Florida. He is a certified General Contractor in the State of Florida since 2004.

Kim Banks
Senior VP, North Division

Ms. Banks joined MAA in 1994. She earned a BS in Business Administration, Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently a member of the Greater Nashville Apartment Association.

Warren Davis
Senior VP, Director of Revenue Management

Prior to rejoining MAA in November of 2014, Mr. Davis most recently served as the Vice President of Specialty Solutions for Express Scripts / Accredo where he was accountable for product development, pricing and sales. Mr. Davis previously served as Vice President of Budgeting and Planning with MAA. He earned a BBA in Accounting from The University of Memphis and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an MBA from Regis University.

Robert Donnelly
Senior VP, Coastal Division

Mr. Donnelly joined MAA in 1998. He earned a BA in Political Science from Davidson College and holds an MBA from Georgia State University.

Jana Ellis
Senior VP, South Division

Ms. Ellis joined MAA in October 2013 following the merger with Colonial Properties Trust. Prior to joining Colonial in 2006, she served as Vice President at Trammell Crow Residential Services. Ms. Ellis earned her BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is the past President of the Austin Apartment Association, past President of the Texas Apartment Association and served on the National Apartment Association (NAA) Assembly of Delegates. She has also completed the NAA Leadership Lyceum Program.

Bryan Ellsberry
Senior VP, Ancillary Services
Amber Fairbanks
Senior VP, East Division

Ms. Fairbanks joined MAA in October 2013 following the merger with Colonial Properties Trust. She joined Colonial in April 2007. Ms. Fairbanks earned a BS in Business Management and Marketing from Coastal Carolina University and earned an MBA in Business Administration from The Citadel. She previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Apartment Association in Charleston, SC.

Bart French
Senior VP, Development

Mr. French joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Mr. French joined Post in July of 2005 and was responsible for new developments in the Texas, Colorado and Florida markets. Prior to Post, he was with Perot Systems Corporation as a member of their mergers and acquisitions team. Mr. French graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Finance.

Michael Halbrook
Senior VP, Director of Redevelopment

Mr. Halbrook joined MAA in 2007. Prior to joining MAA, he was the Director of Real Estate for Pi Kappa Alpha, overseeing the real estate investments of over 175 entities located across the US and Canada. Mr. Halbrook earned a BA from Arkansas State University and an MBA from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.

Anna Harris
Senior VP, Director of Marketing

Ms. Harris joined MAA in 2017. Prior to joining MAA, she led Digital Marketing functions at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and spent many years in Brand Marketing with Hilton Worldwide and Ciba Vision. Ms. Harris began her career in advertising at agencies in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco working with global brands such as American Express, Levi’s and Brown-Forman. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communications from Auburn University. She is a member of the Association of National Advertisers Digital and Social Media Committee.

David Wayne Houtz
Senior VP, Construction and Development

Mr. Houtz joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in 2007 Mr. Houtz worked for general contractors in military multifamily, heavy highway, and retail. Mr. Houtz was employed with military multifamily contractor Hunt Building Company for 16 years, primarily in the Western states. At Hunt, Mr. Houtz held positions from Field Engineer, Estimator, Superintendent, Project Engineer, and finally Project Manager. At MAA, Mr. Houtz manages third party construction and assists with design development of new property acquisitions in the Texas and Colorado markets. Mr. Houtz graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1986 with a BS in Civil Engineering (Construction option) and is EIT (Engineer in Training) certified.

Elizabeth L. Keough
Senior VP, Legal and Associate General Counsel

Ms. Keough joined MAA in mid-2019, having served six years as general counsel for EdR, a public student housing REIT. Following the sale of EdR to private real estate company Greystar, Ms. Keough briefly served as a managing director for Greystar Investment Management. Prior to her in-house experience, Ms. Keough was a director with the law firm of Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston, P.C., with previous experience at two other Memphis based law firms. Ms. Keough earned her B.S. from Vanderbilt University and J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

Kylee Lambert
Senior VP, West Division

Ms. Lambert joined MAA in October 2013 following the merger with Colonial Properties Trust. She joined Colonial in April 2007. Ms. Lambert has over 15 years of industry experience. Ms. Lambert previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Apartment Association in Fort Worth, TX. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Texas Apartment Association. She has completed the AATC Leadership Lyceum Program and attended Tarrant County College.

Kevin P. Perkins
Senior VP, Director of Physical Assets

Mr. Perkins joined MAA in 1991. He has more than 28 years of multifamily experience and is a licensed General Contractor. He holds designations as an Accredited Resident Manager by the Institute of Real Estate Management and Certified Apartment Manager by the National Apartment Association.

Glenn Russell
Senior VP, Director of Internal Audit

Mr. Russell joined MAA in 2013. Prior to joining MAA, he led the internal audit functions of Buckeye Technologies and ACH Foods. Mr. Russell began his career with Ernst & Young working with a variety of public and private clients. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a BBA in Accounting. Mr. Russell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Andrew Schaeffer
Senior VP, Treasurer

Mr. Schaeffer joined MAA in 2009. He previously spent six years in private equity and investment banking, where he participated in numerous private and public company capital raising and advisory assignments. Mr. Schaeffer began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Mr. Schaeffer graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Accounting. He holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee and is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive).

Brad Sill
Senior VP, Enterprise Program Management
Mr. Sill joined MAA in October 2018 after consulting for over two years with the company through the Post Properties, Inc. merger in 2016. He has over 20 years of retail, office and commercial real estate experience including 15 years with Walmart Stores U.S. & International Real Estate divisions where he led multiple global technology transformation initiatives. Realcomm recognized him as one of the top 15 people to watch in corporate real estate and with a lifetime achievement award for real estate technology. Mr. Sill graduated Cum Laude from Missouri Southern State University with a BSBA in Accounting. He also was the Board Chairman for OSCRE International whose focus is on real estate data standards and governance.
Dianne Slotnick
Senior VP, Commercial

Ms. Slotnick joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in July 2009, she held positions with various commercial entities, where she managed and leased multiple properties that included regional lifestyle, outlet and commercial strip centers. Ms. Slotnick graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Marketing. She holds a Certified Marketing Director, Certified Shopping Center Manager and Certified Commercial Executive professional designations with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Matthew Smith
Senior VP, Development
Mr. Smith joined MAA in 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in 2013, he spent eight years at Novare Group, a vertical, mixed-use developer, where he was responsible for developing over 2,000 residential units. Mr. Smith graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BA in English. He holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Stephen Woo
Senior VP, Director of Tax Management

Mr. Woo joined MAA in July 2014. Prior to joining MAA, he led the tax departments of Education Realty Trust, Inc., a student housing REIT, Gate Gourmet, Inc. and RFS Hotel Investors, Inc., a hotel REIT. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand which later became PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Professional Accountancy and earned a Master of Professional Accountancy, Magna Cum Laude with an emphasis in Taxation also from Mississippi State University. Mr. Woo is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and serves on NAREIT’s Federal Tax Subcommittee.

Mr. Bolton has been a member of MAA’s management team since April of 1994. Prior to joining MAA, he spent seven years with the Trammell Crow Company in Dallas, serving most recently as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for Trammell Crow Asset Management. He worked in the commercial banking industry for seven years previously.

Mr. Bolton holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate. He also holds professional designations as a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status) and an Associate of Risk Management.

Mr. Bolton serves as a Director for EastGroup Properties (NYSE: EGP) which is a self-administered equity real estate investment trust focused on the development, acquisition and ownership of industrial properties in major Sunbelt markets in the US. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Governors of the National Association of REITs.

Alan B. Graf Jr.
Lead Director
Mr. Graf has served as a director since June 2002. Mr. Graf is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FedEx Corporation, a position he has held since 1998 and is a member of FedEx Corporation’s Executive Committee. Prior to that time, Mr. Graf was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for FedEx Express, FedEx’s predecessor, from 1991 to 1998. Mr. Graf joined FedEx in 1980. Mr. Graf also serves on the Board of Directors of NIKE, Inc., Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare, the Indiana University Foundation and is a University of Memphis Trustee.
Russell R. French
Mr. French was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Post Properties, Inc. and has served as a director since December 2016. Mr. French served as a director for Post Properties, Inc. from July 1993 until December 2016. He has been a special limited partner of Moseley & Co. VI, LLC since 2007 and a Class B Partner of both Moseley & Co. VII, LLC and Moseley & Co. SBIC, LLC since 2014. Mr. French is a retired venture capitalist and was previously a member of Moseley & Co. III and a partner of Moseley & Co. II, positions he had held for more than five years. In addition, Mr. French has been a member of MKFJ-IV, LLC since 1998 and a member of Moseley & Co. V, LLC since 2000. Each of Moseley & Co. III, MKFJ-IV, LLC and Moseley & Co. V, LLC is the general partner of a venture capital fund. In addition, Mr. French is an Emeritus Trustee of Emory University and a former member of the board of directors of the Georgia Tech/Emory Biomedical Engineering Department and former director of the Georgia Research Alliance.
Toni Jennings
Ms. Jennings was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Post Properties, Inc. and has served as a director since December 2016. Ms. Jennings served as a director for Post Properties, Inc. from May 2013 until December 2016. Ms. Jennings is the Chairman of the Board of Jack Jennings & Sons, Inc., a family-owned construction business which provides general contractor, construction manager and design-build services. She served as Lieutenant Governor of the State of Florida from 2003 to 2007, and served 20 years in the Florida Senate, four as President, and four years in the Florida House of Representatives. She is also past chair of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Jennings is a member of the boards of directors of publicly-traded NextEra Energy, Inc. and Brown & Brown, Inc.
James K. Lowder
Mr. Lowder was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Colonial Properties Trust and has served as a director since October 2013. Mr. Lowder served as a trustee for Colonial Properties Trust from 1993 to 2013. Mr. Lowder has served as chairman of the board of The Colonial Company and its subsidiaries since 1995. Mr. Lowder is a member of the Home Builders Association of Alabama, the Greater Montgomery Home Builders Association, and serves on the board of directors of Alabama Power Company.

Thomas H. Lowder
Mr. Lowder was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Colonial Properties Trust and has served as a director since October 2013. Mr. Lowder served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Colonial Properties Trust from 1993 to October 2013 and as the Chief Executive Officer from 1993 to 2006 and again from 2008 to 2013. Mr. Lowder became President and Chief Executive Officer of Colonial Properties, Inc., Colonial Property Trust’s predecessor, in 1976. Mr. Lowder also serves on the boards of Children's Hospital of Alabama and Crippled Children's Foundation. Mr. Lowder is a past board member of Greater Birmingham Community Foundation, United Way of Central Alabama, the University of Alabama Health System Board and the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation.

Monica H. McGurk
Ms. McGurk has served as a director since March 2016. Ms. McGurk is the Chief Revenue and eCommerce Officer for Kellogg Company, having joined Kellogg Company in July 2018. Previously, Ms. McGurk worked for Tyson Foods, Inc. from 2016 through September 2017, initially serving as Executive Vice President of Strategy and New Ventures & President of Foodservice, and later as the Chief Growth Officer. Prior to joining Tyson Foods, Inc., Ms. McGurk served as Senior Vice President, Strategy, Decision Support and eCommerce, North America Group for The Coca-Cola Company, a position she held since 2014, when she was promoted from her prior role as Vice President, Strategy & eCommerce, a position she held since 2012. Prior to her employment with The Coca-Cola Company, Ms. McGurk served for eight months as the Chief Executive Officer of The Alumni Factor, a digital media and information services start up. From 1992 to 2012, Ms. McGurk served in a variety of roles, including eight years as a partner, at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm.
Claude B. Nielsen
Mr. Nielsen was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Colonial Properties Trust and has served as a director since October 2013. Mr. Nielsen served as a trustee for Colonial Properties Trust from 1993 to 2013. Mr. Nielsen has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. since 2003. Mr. Nielsen served as Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. from 1991 to his planned retirement in 2016. Mr. Nielsen had been appointed as President in 1990. Prior to 1990, Mr. Nielsen served as president of Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Mr. Nielsen currently serves as Chairman for The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is a board member of the Birmingham Business Alliance.
Philip W. Norwood
Mr. Norwood has served as a director since August 2007. Mr. Norwood is a Principal of Haviland Capital, LLC, an investment company. Mr. Norwood served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Faison Enterprises, Inc., a real estate development and investment company, from 1994 until his retirement in March 2013. Prior to joining Faison Enterprises, Inc., Mr. Norwood held several positions for Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Norwood is a member of several real estate associations and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Pacolet Milliken Enterprises, Inc.

William Reid Sanders
Mr. Sanders has served as a director since March 2010. Mr. Sanders serves as the President of Sanders Properties, LLC and Sanders Investments, LLC. Mr. Sanders is the Co-Founder and former Executive Vice President of Southeastern Asset Management, and the former President of Longleaf Partners Funds. Prior to co-founding Southeastern Asset Management in 1975, Mr. Sanders served as an investment officer and worked in credit analysis and commercial lending in the banking industry from 1971 to 1975. Mr. Sanders currently serves on the Board of Directors of Two Harbors Investment Corp. and Granite Point Mortgage. Mr. Sanders also serves on the Board of Directors, Compensation Committee and Executive Committee for Independent Bank, serves on the Investment Committee at Cypress Realty, a limited partnership involved in commercial real estate, and is on the Advisory Board of SSM Venture Partners.

Gary S. Shorb
Mr. Shorb has served as a director since May 2012. Mr. Shorb served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, an integrated healthcare system that comprises a seven-hospital operation centered in the Mid-South with over 11,000 employees, from 2001 to his planned retirement in 2016, also serving as Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer from January 2017 through April 2017. Mr. Shorb joined Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in 1990 as Executive Vice President. Before joining Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Mr. Shorb served as President of the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to his work in the healthcare industry, Mr. Shorb worked as a project engineer with Exxon and served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Shorb serves on a number of civil and not-for-profit boards and is currently serving as the Executive Director of The Urban Child Institute.
David P. Stockert
Mr. Stockert was appointed to the Board of Directors pursuant to the terms of the merger agreement between us and Post Properties, Inc. and has served as a director since December 2016. Mr. Stockert served as a director of Post Properties from May 2002 until December 2016. Mr. Stockert served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Post Properties from July 2002 until 2016. From January 2001 to June 2002, Mr. Stockert served as Post Properties’ President and Chief Operating Officer. From July 1999 to October 2000, Mr. Stockert was Executive Vice President of Duke Realty Corporation, a publicly traded real estate company. From June 1995 to July 1999, Mr. Stockert was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Weeks Corporation, also a publicly traded real estate company that was a predecessor by merger to Duke Realty Corporation. Prior to joining Weeks Corporation, Mr. Stockert worked as an investment banker and as a certified public accountant. Mr. Stockert currently serves on the Board of Directors of Duke Realty Corporation.

H. Eric Bolton Jr.
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Bolton was named Chairman of MAA on October 1, 2002, having assumed the duties of Chief Executive Officer one year earlier. Mr. Bolton has been a member of MAA’s management team since April of 1994. Albert M. Campbell III
Executive VP, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Campbell joined MAA in 1998 and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer at the beginning of 2010. He began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen, serving numerous large public corporations. He also served in various finance and accounting roles with Thomas & Betts Corporation (a large public electrical supplies manufacturer) prior to joining MAA.

Mr. Campbell graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Professional Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council serving recently on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

Melanie M. Carpenter
Executive VP, Chief Human Resources Officer

Ms. Carpenter joined MAA in March 2000. Prior to joining MAA, she worked in Human Resources with Cooperative Marketing Concepts, a high performance telemarketing and training services firm. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in Management and earned an EMBA, also from the University of Memphis. She holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute and is a current member and past Board Member (serving as Treasurer and President-elect) for the Memphis chapter of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Robert J. DelPriore
Executive VP, General Counsel

Mr. DelPriore joined MAA in August 2013. Prior to joining MAA, Mr. DelPriore was a partner in the securities department of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, where he worked extensively with real estate investment trusts.

Mr. DelPriore graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his undergraduate degree in History from Vanderbilt University.

Thomas L. Grimes Jr.
Executive VP, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Grimes joined MAA in 1994 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in December 2011, having previously served as Executive Vice President and Director of Property Management.

Mr. Grimes holds a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and an MBA from the University of Memphis. Mr. Grimes is a member of the Urban Land Institute (MultiFamily Gold Council) and the National Multifamily Housing Council.

A. Bradley Hill
Executive VP, Director of Multifamily Investing

Mr. Hill joined MAA in 2010 and has almost 15 years of experience in real estate transactions. Prior to joining MAA, he held senior positions with two real estate development companies. Mr. Hill graduated from Tulane University with a BS in Management, and earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from SMU’s Cox School of Business. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).

Charles A. Konas
Executive VP, Director of New Construction

Mr. Konas joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in 2004, he was senior vice president of Carter & Associates, a regional full-service real estate firm.

Mr. Konas is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Civil Engineering, and holds a BS in Physics from Guildford College. He is LEED certified and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

David C. Ward
Executive VP, Development

Mr. Ward joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in August 2004, he was Divisional President and Managing Partner for JPI Partners, Inc., where he was responsible for multifamily investment activities.

Mr. Ward is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where he serves on the NMHC Board of Directors and Executive Committee and on the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board. He earned his BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tim Argo
Senior VP, Director of Finance

Mr. Argo joined MAA in June of 2002. Mr. Argo was previously a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen LLP. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a BBA in Accounting and earned an MBA with a concentration in Accounting, also from the University of Memphis. Mr. Argo is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee.

A. Clay Holder
Senior VP, Chief Accounting Officer
Mr. Holder joined MAA in 2017. He previously spent seven years in multiple accounting and finance roles at AutoZone, Inc. Prior to AutoZone, Mr. Holder began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. Mr. Holder graduated Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Professional Accountancy and earned a Master of Professional Accountancy, Magna Cum Laude also from Mississippi State University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee.
Joseph P. Fracchia
Senior VP, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Fracchia joined MAA in October 2016. He has 20 years of Professional Services experience with PwC, Deloitte and Andersen and was Founder and Managing Partner of Vaco Risk Solutions. Mr. Fracchia earned his BS in Accounting from The University of Tennessee and his MS in Accounting Systems from The University of Memphis. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Leslie B.C. Wolfgang
Senior VP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Wolfgang joined MAA in 2000. Ms. Wolfgang earned a BS in Business Administration, Cum Laude with a concentration in Finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and holds an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University with a concentration in Operations Management. Ms. Wolfgang has been designated as a Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC) by the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association.

Indrid Agaj
Senior VP, Construction

Mr. Agaj joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. He joined Post in March, 2007. He is responsible for managing new construction in the general Southeast, Florida and Texas markets. Prior to joining Post in 2007, he managed construction projects in various fields for large general contracting firms. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a BS in Construction Management. He also holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from the University of Florida. He is a certified General Contractor in the State of Florida since 2004.

Kim Banks
Senior VP, North Division

Ms. Banks joined MAA in 1994. She earned a BS in Business Administration, Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently a member of the Greater Nashville Apartment Association.

Warren Davis
Senior VP, Director of Revenue Management

Prior to rejoining MAA in November of 2014, Mr. Davis most recently served as the Vice President of Specialty Solutions for Express Scripts / Accredo where he was accountable for product development, pricing and sales. Mr. Davis previously served as Vice President of Budgeting and Planning with MAA. He earned a BBA in Accounting from The University of Memphis and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an MBA from Regis University.

Robert Donnelly
Senior VP, Coastal Division

Mr. Donnelly joined MAA in 1998. He earned a BA in Political Science from Davidson College and holds an MBA from Georgia State University.

Jana Ellis
Senior VP, South Division

Ms. Ellis joined MAA in October 2013 following the merger with Colonial Properties Trust. Prior to joining Colonial in 2006, she served as Vice President at Trammell Crow Residential Services. Ms. Ellis earned her BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is the past President of the Austin Apartment Association, past President of the Texas Apartment Association and served on the National Apartment Association (NAA) Assembly of Delegates. She has also completed the NAA Leadership Lyceum Program.

Amber Fairbanks
Senior VP, East Division

Ms. Fairbanks joined MAA in October 2013 following the merger with Colonial Properties Trust. She joined Colonial in April 2007. Ms. Fairbanks earned a BS in Business Management and Marketing from Coastal Carolina University and earned an MBA in Business Administration from The Citadel. She previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Apartment Association in Charleston, SC.

Bart French
Senior VP, Development

Mr. French joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Mr. French joined Post in July of 2005 and was responsible for new developments in the Texas, Colorado and Florida markets. Prior to Post, he was with Perot Systems Corporation as a member of their mergers and acquisitions team. Mr. French graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Finance.

Michael Halbrook
Senior VP, Director of Redevelopment

Mr. Halbrook joined MAA in 2007. Prior to joining MAA, he was the Director of Real Estate for Pi Kappa Alpha, overseeing the real estate investments of over 175 entities located across the US and Canada. Mr. Halbrook earned a BA from Arkansas State University and an MBA from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.

Anna Harris
Senior VP, Director of Marketing

Ms. Harris joined MAA in 2017. Prior to joining MAA, she led Digital Marketing functions at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and spent many years in Brand Marketing with Hilton Worldwide and Ciba Vision. Ms. Harris began her career in advertising at agencies in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco working with global brands such as American Express, Levi’s and Brown-Forman. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communications from Auburn University. She is a member of the Association of National Advertisers Digital and Social Media Committee.

David Wayne Houtz
Senior VP, Construction and Development

Mr. Houtz joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in 2007 Mr. Houtz worked for general contractors in military multifamily, heavy highway, and retail. Mr. Houtz was employed with military multifamily contractor Hunt Building Company for 16 years, primarily in the Western states. At Hunt, Mr. Houtz held positions from Field Engineer, Estimator, Superintendent, Project Engineer, and finally Project Manager. At MAA, Mr. Houtz manages third party construction and assists with design development of new property acquisitions in the Texas and Colorado markets. Mr. Houtz graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1986 with a BS in Civil Engineering (Construction option) and is EIT (Engineer in Training) certified.

Elizabeth L. Keough
Senior VP, Legal and Associate General Counsel

Ms. Keough joined MAA in mid-2019, having served six years as general counsel for EdR, a public student housing REIT. Following the sale of EdR to private real estate company Greystar, Ms. Keough briefly served as a managing director for Greystar Investment Management. Prior to her in-house experience, Ms. Keough was a director with the law firm of Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston, P.C., with previous experience at two other Memphis based law firms. Ms. Keough earned her B.S. from Vanderbilt University and J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

Kylee Lambert
Senior VP, West Division

Ms. Lambert joined MAA in October 2013 following the merger with Colonial Properties Trust. She joined Colonial in April 2007. Ms. Lambert has over 15 years of industry experience. Ms. Lambert previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Apartment Association in Fort Worth, TX. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Texas Apartment Association. She has completed the AATC Leadership Lyceum Program and attended Tarrant County College.

Kevin P. Perkins
Senior VP, Director of Physical Assets

Mr. Perkins joined MAA in 1991. He has more than 28 years of multifamily experience and is a licensed General Contractor. He holds designations as an Accredited Resident Manager by the Institute of Real Estate Management and Certified Apartment Manager by the National Apartment Association.

Glenn Russell
Senior VP, Director of Internal Audit

Mr. Russell joined MAA in 2013. Prior to joining MAA, he led the internal audit functions of Buckeye Technologies and ACH Foods. Mr. Russell began his career with Ernst & Young working with a variety of public and private clients. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a BBA in Accounting. Mr. Russell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Andrew Schaeffer
Senior VP, Treasurer

Mr. Schaeffer joined MAA in 2009. He previously spent six years in private equity and investment banking, where he participated in numerous private and public company capital raising and advisory assignments. Mr. Schaeffer began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Mr. Schaeffer graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Accounting. He holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee and is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive).

Brad Sill
Senior VP, Enterprise Program Management
Mr. Sill joined MAA in October 2018 after consulting for over two years with the company through the Post Properties, Inc. merger in 2016. He has over 20 years of retail, office and commercial real estate experience including 15 years with Walmart Stores U.S. & International Real Estate divisions where he led multiple global technology transformation initiatives. Realcomm recognized him as one of the top 15 people to watch in corporate real estate and with a lifetime achievement award for real estate technology. Mr. Sill graduated Cum Laude from Missouri Southern State University with a BSBA in Accounting. He also was the Board Chairman for OSCRE International whose focus is on real estate data standards and governance.
Dianne Slotnick
Senior VP, Commercial

Ms. Slotnick joined MAA in December 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in July 2009, she held positions with various commercial entities, where she managed and leased multiple properties that included regional lifestyle, outlet and commercial strip centers. Ms. Slotnick graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Marketing. She holds a Certified Marketing Director, Certified Shopping Center Manager and Certified Commercial Executive professional designations with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Matthew Smith
Senior VP, Development
Mr. Smith joined MAA in 2016 following the merger with Post Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Post in 2013, he spent eight years at Novare Group, a vertical, mixed-use developer, where he was responsible for developing over 2,000 residential units. Mr. Smith graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BA in English. He holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Stephen Woo
Senior VP, Director of Tax Management

Mr. Woo joined MAA in July 2014. Prior to joining MAA, he led the tax departments of Education Realty Trust, Inc., a student housing REIT, Gate Gourmet, Inc. and RFS Hotel Investors, Inc., a hotel REIT. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand which later became PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Professional Accountancy and earned a Master of Professional Accountancy, Magna Cum Laude with an emphasis in Taxation also from Mississippi State University. Mr. Woo is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and serves on NAREIT’s Federal Tax Subcommittee.
